Zastava Automobiles (Застава Аутомобили) was a Serbian and Yugoslav international car manufacturer, whos roots lay in the 1851 founding in Kragujevac of the Vojno-Tehnicki Zavod (Military Technical Institute). In 1904, within the company, a section dedicated to automobiles was inaugurated & beside repair services, certain car parts were also manufactured. After World War II, the plant was renamed Zavodi Crvena Zastava ("Red Flag Factories") and manufactured cars under the Zastava and Yugo brand until the last Zastava branded car rolled out of the factory on 21 Nov 2008.
